Research and Personal Interests
My research focuses on social identity and civic engagement in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. I seek to understand how social constructions of identity impact the ways in which individuals engage in civic spaces — both physical and digital — and interact with others in these spaces. I employ both quantitative and qualitative methods, evaluating the outcomes of civic engagement as well as individuals’ experiences as they navigate the civic space.
Outside of academia, I enjoy crafting, hiking and reading. I also enjoy frequenting local maker’s markets and art festivals in the Columbus area.
